October 1, 2019:   The Voting Period closed on August 22, 2019 and the successful union for each bargaining unit has been determined.

Please note that the successful union does not assume responsibility for its new members until the Commissioner has issued a bargaining unit certificate.  Although work is underway, at this point in time the date for issuing the certificates cannot be determined.

This means that until a new certificate is issued, the unsuccessful union continues to be responsible for representing its members.  Employees continue to be members and pay dues to that union.  During this time, it should be business as usual by the union with respect to their representation including but not limited to attending grievance hearings and addressing disciplinary actions, return to work protocols, health and safety matters, etc.
